1x a week- T.B.D Futsal session/indoor Gym

Outdoor League:

HSL to be used for Practice Games

Duration of sessions:

1.5h starting first week of October

Tournaments:

We should aim to do 4-6 tournaments/ showcases, coaches will pick what suits their teams

best.

November: National Elite Winter Soccer Showcase (NEWSS) Long Island, NY one of the

biggest on the east coast for boys. EDP Fall Showcase, NJ

December: Futsal tournament at Buffalo State College

January: Start of the Sahlen Indoor League 9v9

February: Sahlen Indoor League,/ EDP Winter Showcase, NJ

March: Sahlen Indoor League/ Some tournaments are up and running in the USA this month

April: Nike Cup, Ohio/ EDP Easter Showcase, NJ

May: HSL/NSL League/ Gettysburg Blue Gray Cup - Memorial Day Tournament/ Umbro Top

rated showcase, Ontario,/ Empire Cup showcase, Batavia NY.

June: HSL/NSL League/ EDP Cup Showcase, NJ

July: HSL/NSL League/ NYC Cup, New York, Seaside Classic, Rhode Island 

August: HSL/NSL League

Program Curriculum:

The five-day training program comprises soccer and futsal training, as well as classroom

sessions focusing on Player Development, as well as mental and physical well being and

understanding.

The OTS Objectives and Mission:

Competitive:

To Create a Competitive atmosphere where athletes can showcase their talents and strive for

excellence, while continuing to grow and develop both as athletes and individuals.

Player Development:

To develop players to their fullest potential and skill set, ensuring that the player never loses

their love and passion for the game.

Professional Experience:

To create a “ Real World “ type of experience where OTS athletes act and conduct themselves

as professional athletes.

These experiences are learned through sport and can be applied to gain mutual respect and

humility.

An OTS Athlete is:

        •         Committed to achieving both academic and athletic success

        •         Well disciplined, respectful, hardworking

        •         Independent, self-directed, and organized

        •         Working at grade level

        •         An individual with strong time-management skills

        •         Referred by OTS coaches as being a “Advanced Development Player

The Program Focuses on Four Developmental Components:

Psychological:

Focuses on enhancing the Players competence, commitment, and mental toughness. The

program includes mental coaching.

Technical:

Focuses on training to improve the athlete’s distribution skills, dribbling skills, first touch

skills, 1v1 attacking and defending.

Sociological:

Focuses on improving and fostering OTS athletes in terms of their maturity and

responsibility, their leadership skills, relationships on and off the field, and communicating

with their Teammates, coaches, and trainers.

Physiological: 

Focuses on physicality by working with our certified strength and conditioning coaches.

Athletes focus on physical literacy, improving on sprinting mechanics, working on advanced

speed, agility, and understanding of basic body weight and strengthening. Furthermore,

OTS athletes will also focus on stretching with proper breathing exercises with our yoga

sessions.

Futsal Training: On Field and Gym Training broken down into 2 segments:

Soccer / Futsal Training:

        •       Attacking and Defending Transitions

        •       First Touch

        •       Passing

        •       Shooting

        •       Spatial Awareness & Cognitive Training

        •       On-Field Position and Game Flow

Fitness and Health:

        •       Strength and Conditioning

        •       Speed, Agility and Power Development

        •       Overall Fitness and Stamina

        •       Mobility

        •       Athletic Therapy

In Class Education:

Off the field/court, student-athlete will spend 30 minutes a week in Classroom sessions focused

on three segments:

Understanding the game

        •       Tactics and Strategies

        •       Video Analysis of Training Sessions, Past Games

        •       Understanding the Rules and Nuances of the game

Sports science

        •       Nutrition

        •       Mental Coaching

        •       Injury Prevention and Management,

        •       Evaluation and Assessment

        •       Basic Anatomy

Sports education
